The Full Form of EWS is Economically Weaker Section. EWS is a term used in India to refer to individuals or families who belong to the lower socio-economic class and have a low income. EWS category was introduced in the Indian Constitution to provide reservation and other benefits to disadvantaged sections of society.
The EWS category includes individuals who belong to families with an annual income of less than INR 8 lakhs (approximately $10,800) and who do not belong to any other reserved category, such as Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, or Other Backward Classes.
